  • Abstract
PARSA is a software development environment for designing, developing and deploying high performance multithreaded software. Its main advantage is that it makes it easy for the software developer to develop highly efficient, fast software and at the same time, making applications portable to a wide range of systems without the need of knowledge of multithreaded programming. It supports an object-based graphical programming methodology specifically designed for developing multithreaded software by using graphical objects with arcs. This paper presents a brief description of PARSA and the results of eight sorting algorithms that were implemented using the methodology. The results show impressive speedups of the PARSA sort algorithms over their sequential implementations.
