  • Abstract
    A new power control scheme is derived and studied for interference limited wireless cellular systems in Nakagami fading channels. We first derive a simple analytical formula for the outage probability, from which we then derive and establish the validity of using a new performance index, so-called signal-to-interference margin, for optimal power control in Nakagami fading channels. Our results show that the optimal power control problem for minimizing outage probability in Nakagami channels can be approximately solved by applying the Perron-Frobenius eigenvalue theory. As expected, our results are shown to match previous result for Rayleigh fading channels as a special case.
