  • Abstract
Based on the fractal model of multipart fading channel, a novel channel estimation scheme is presented for the channel estimation filter, named FFBM filter, used in a WCDMA system. The proposed method is a recursion algorithm, which can predict the parameters of data symbol-assisted channel by the estimation of the parameters of the pilot symbol-assisted channel. Compared with the schemes using fractal interpolation between the instantaneous channel estimation of two successive slots, presented in the references, this method can not only adapt the demand of WCDMA system that the transmitting speed can be variable, but it can also estimate the channel parameters more accurately and faster.
