Abstract
An active control of high-rise buildings is considered as one of challenging problems. In this paper, a building is assumed to be subjective to random wind and/or seismic disturbances. Such disturbances are essentially random and have mutually different characteristics, so that an effective control method is proposed by constructing two types of controllers. One has the task to suppress vibration caused by wind disturbance, while the other to control the structure against seismic motion. To demonstrate the control method, simulation studies are presented.
