Abstract
A multi-step optimization strategy is suggested here for optimizing complex dynamic processes. It consists of SAM, HOM and DNLP. As a case study, a batch polymerization reactor is optimized. By SAM, effects of the operating variable on the conversion, the molecular weight and the poly-dispersion index are tabularized in the quality model. The initial concentrations and the operating temperature are optimized by HOM. Furthermore, the result of HOM is improved by DNLP. DNLP ensures the higher quality of polymer with increasing the interval numbers and the interpolation function order. Consequently, the polymer quality can be enhanced by the multi-step strategy effectively.
