Abstract
Stair-like dynamic matrix control (DMC) and PID were combined together to construct transparent control (TC) structure, and applied to the temperature control system. TC holds both the advantages of stair-like DMC and PID control. It can deal with model uncertainty and systems with dead time and constraints, thus is robust. The introduction of stair-like control strategy leads to reduction in computation. High speed sample of the inner PID controller makes it easy to suppress disturbances. The implementation of TC on the temperature control of the electric oven provides good results and shows excellent performance of TC structure.
