  • Abstract
In view of some disadvantages of the discrete component switching power amplifier for active magnetic bearing (AMB) such as troublesome debugging, low reliability and distortion of input-output curves, a new power amplifier is studied for AMB. It is designed by use of integrated pulse width modulate (PWM) switching power amplifier SA60, and the interface circuits between the control circuits and the power amplifier are designed. The experiment results showed that the integrated switching power amplifier is advantageous than the discrete component power amplifier in input-output characteristics, at last some improved methods are proposed.
