Abstract
This paper shows how a multi-step optimal conversion architecture can be used as a switching technique for switch-mode power supplies. The strategy presented spreads the power spectrum of the switching signal and, thus, reduces peaks in spectra of voltages and currents within the supply. As a consequence, electromagnetic interference emissions can be mitigated in order to comply with regulations.
