Abstract
A new human thermal model is developed that accounts for asymmetric environments and includes extremities. The model incorporates 2-dimensional (radial and circumferential) heat transfer along with arterial and venous countercurrent blood flow. Digits to predict toe and fingertip are modeled as arteriovenous anastomoses (AVAs), all of which are important in extremity discomfort.
