  • Abstract
A high peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) has become one of the major disadvantages in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and other multicarrier communication systems. A new PAR reduction scheme, named selected mapping-dynamic puncturing matrix (SLM-DPM), is proposed to overcome the problem in turbo coded OFDM (TC-OFDM) systems. By selecting the dynamic puncturing matrix of turbo codes, the scheme introduces a signal set in which the signal with the lowest PAR is selected to be transmitted. Simulations show that our proposed SLM-DPM scheme can achieve good PAR reduction performance with excellent BER results.
