Modified projection method for array pattern synthesis

A method for amplitude and phase constrained array pattern synthesis based on the intersection approach 111 is proposed. In this work an alternative formulation to [I] is given which leads to a number of improvements, both in the computation effciency and in the convergence robustness. The synthesis algorithm becomes in fact insensitive to the choice of the starting point and shaped pattern synthesis with stringent constraints on the excitations can he rapidly performed.
