Abstract
A new type of iterative decoder based on analog computing networks, which incorporates conventional BiCMOS or CMOS technologies, outperform its digital counterparts in terms of speed and/or power consumption. The paper presents the design and functionality of an all-analog turbo decoder taking advantage of the high-speed features of SiGe HBTs achieving throughput up to Gbits/s. Simulation results based on AMS 0.35 μm SiGe BiCMOS technology demonstrate promising performance compared to existing designs.
