Abstract
Nonlinear absorption of six polymethene dyes is experimentally investigated at excitation with focused radiation of second harmonic of Nd:YAG laser (532 nm) and the XeCl-laser (308 nm). The good limiting effect in ethanol solutions has been shown. Spectra of the induced absorption in nanosecond time range (pump-probe experiment) are obtained. Mechanisms of nonlinear restriction of optical power are also discussed.
