Abstract
Based on the conventional ladder approximation model, the exponential approximation model is adopted to approach nonuniform transmission lines. For every discrete segment, the stationary wave transform is applied to transform the partial differential equations of variational coefficients to that of ordinary coefficients. With the central difference approximations, the iterative formulas of the FDTD method are obtained. At last, compared with the traditional method, the method proposed is demonstrated to be effective and used to research the multiconductor transmission lines (MTL)
