Abstract
In this paper we compare characteristics of electrically small UWB monopole and slot antennas, when they operate as stand-alone radiators, and after integration into body-worn sensors. A simplified model of wearable sensors was used a solid metal sheet of about 9 cm2. Results show that the integration of antennas significantly changes the return loss and radiation characteristics.
