Abstract
This letter focuses on where to place antennas of the secondary user so as to minimize the spectrum sensing error probability in cognitive radio networks. We first study the detection probability and false alarm probability in spectrum sensing, considering the effects of path loss, correlated shadowing, multipath fading, background noise, and primary user location. Under the assumption of uniform primary user distribution in a circle, the optimal antenna location is derived.
