  • Abstract
A novel approach, called alternate mainbeam ing (AMN), is proposed to deal efficiently with coherent interference in linearly constrained adaptive arrays. The AMN algorithm employs a constraint with unit constraint in the look direction alternately with linear interpolation to reduce signal cancellation. It is demonstrated that the AMN algorithm performs consistently well and also is spatially robust to the amount of coherent interference. Also, the AMN algorithm is practical since the number of computations and the design cost are significantly reduced compared to conventional methods.
