Abstract
New technology for the representation of music in symbolic form (such as IEEE Standard P1599 developed by the authors) allows the realization of computer tools that transform the activity of listening to music in an enjoyable learning experience. This article gives a brief description of the standard and its features and of a simple browser realised to illustrate this technology.
