Abstract
A new method of improving the gain of circular waveguide antenna array using the EBG structure is studied. The radiation characteristic of circular waveguide antenna array with EBG structure is simulated by using the numerical method. The simulation results are in good agreement with measurements, which validate the theoretical analysis. Experimental results show an about 7dB addition in the antenna array gain comparing with the conventional antenna array, so the radiation characteristics of antenna array using EBG structure are improved.
