Abstract
This paper describes a quarter-wavelength ultra-wideband (UWB) slot antenna, fed by an L-shaped tuning stub, for 3-5 GHz mobile applications. In particular, geometrical parameters that affect the performance of the antenna are investigated. Numerical results indicate that the performance of the antenna can be easily optimized by varying the location and dimension of the tuning stub. Furthermore, a prototype of the antenna is made and a good agreement between simulation and measurement is achieved.
