Abstract
Recently, the delayed ACK have been widely used in many implementations. Unfortunately, studies have shown that reducing ACKs by delayed ACK produces negative outcomes. Allman highlighted the low performance of delayed ACK in wired network. Lang´s studies presented the adverse effects of delayed ACK over wireless links. Lang showed that the number of timeouts increase significantly when using delayed ACK leading TCP throughput is dropped substantially. To alleviate delayed ACK problems, we proposed DAI´s agent operating at the base station between mobile nodes and fixed nodes. It tries to imitate normal ACK-traffic in wired networks. As a result, it is shown that DAI can improve performances without any modification at both ends
