Abstract
The integrated direct-drive rotary-linear switched reluctance motor (RLSRM) is investigated in this paper. The characteristics of the RLSRM are further inspected by using the finite element method after theoretical analysis. The torque and force distribution function (TFDF) is proposed for the RLSRM based on the multiphase excitation scheme to decouple the linear and the rotary axis of motion. Based on the simple proportional-integral-derivative position control algorithm, the experimental results testify the effectiveness of the proposed TFDF for individual control for each axis.
