  • Abstract
In the context awareness enabled Personal Network (PN) environment users are supposed to receive the right content in the right place at the right time. However, this kind of service raises several important issues. The user might feel uncomfortable by knowing that somebody is tracing his whereabouts and might send unwanted information to his/her personal devices at any time. Likewise, the user will be annoyed if he or she receives irrelevant service content at the wrong place or time. Context awareness enabled PN services must be able to adapt to the user´s needs and preferences and deliver content in the form desired by the user. Such services can only be successful, if the user feels in control at any time and experiences the service as user-friendly. This paper discusses the key factors of context aware services, in particular personalisation and privacy, and proposes a way for modelling the user profile.
