Toward Universalizing Common Skills of Ship Navigators

Ship navigation has been a cultural tradition throughout history. Common knowledge and skills have been created by wise navigators. Humans have often found navigation concepts useful as metaphors for daily life (i.e. -life is often likened to navigation using words such as "compass," "chart," "course of life," etc.). However, the concept of navigation skills being applicable to daily life has not been systematized yet. We aim to universalize common skills of navigators in three steps: (1) take the position of a navigator; (2) universalize common skills of ship navigators; and (3) propose a universal decision-making system based on skills already known by navigators but not by the general public.
