Abstract
We present the optical design of a new radiometer for remote sensing of stratospheric water vapor. One goal is to minimize the size of the instrument compared to previous radiometers built at our institute. Another goal is to build an optical system which guarantees very low sidelobe level and spillover losses. These requirements are achieved by using an optimized choked Gaussian horn and parabolic mirror.
