Abstract
The paper presents a review of the electromagnetic shielding matters appearing in various technical military and public activity fields. On the basis of the electromagnetic field theory, the well known shielding methods for fixed or mobile, rigid or flexible enclosures having a big or small size, panels or boxes with slots or technological apertures for power electronic equipment arc analyzed. The accessories used for shielding as electromagnetic shielding gaskets, ventilation systems etc. are also treated. It is discussed the measurement compliance with the requirements of the international standards from the viewpoint of the limits and measurement uncertainty. There are also presented experimental results and equipment used to determine shielding effectiveness emphasizing especially on the materials used to this end.
