  • Abstract
    This paper improves the error metric of LOD node in the Rottger algorithm with the awareness model and vertex normal. The improved algorithm employs the awareness model to compute the dynamic factor and renders the LOD terrain based on awareness degree. Then it employs the Vertex normal to compute the static factor, thereby the roughness of terrain is described accurately. The simulation results show that under the terrain render algorithm proposed in this paper, the fps (frame per second) of render can change smoothly, the real-time characteristic is better, and the terrain gird can meet the requirement of human vision better.
