Abstract
The theory design would exceed the practical range in the conventional wideband matching networks design. The improved MEA was adopted to optimize nonuniform broadband impedance transformer in this paper. In the paper the improved self-adaptive similartax strategy was presented at first, which self-adaptive choose the spread range of different subpopulations and control the distance of new individuals in different phase of evolution. This method increased the research ability, had large research range at the beginning and the fast convergence velocity at the end. Then the fitness function suitable to the microstrip circuit design was introduced. An impedance transformer by this method was implemented. The simulation result showed that this method was effective and practical.
