Abstract
With the explosion of information in garment production logistics management (GPLM), RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology was introduced to decrease workload of manual inputting and disposing mass data. Combining with the characteristics of garment industry, RFID technology was applied to material warehouse, tailoring workshop, stitching workshop, ironing workshop, finished product warehouse so that the real-time data about order, material, quality, et al. of production processes could be accessed or recorded and the management of basic data could be enhanced. The RFID-based information model and logistics model of garment production were presented by analyzing the information requirement for the GPLM. On the basis of the above work, a RFID-based garment production logistics management system (GPLMS) was developed. The system was used in a garment enterprise and it is shown that the system can greatly improve the automation and intelligence of GPLM.
