  • Abstract
    Under the condition of increasingly furious market competition, requirements of customs become diverse and characteristic, mass customization comes forth to meet the customers’ need and turn into a kind of inevitable trend. In order to manage large numbers of product species, the product configuration have emerged and have become the focus of research. This paper puts forward the concept of knowledge module, the model of knowledge module is established by the object-oriented method. The product structure model is set up based on GBOM (Generic Bill of Material), modular variants and configuration rules are defined during the configuration process, the configuration method of level by level is presented according to the product structure model. An applied case is presented by taking USB disk as an example to illustrate the logical process of configuration in detail. This concludes product configuration based on knowledge is feasible to solve the issues of product configuration.
