  • Abstract
Four different types of superconducting magnets are being manufactured in Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Science now. The Lanzhou Penning Trap (LPT) magnet is a solenoid with requirements of high field homogeneity and low stray field. The superconducting electron cyclotron resonance ion source with advanced design in Lanzhou (SECRAL II) magnet is a combined magnet consisting of a set of sextupole coils and three solenoids. Its main difficulties are the mechanical issues caused by the complicated electromagnetic force. The prototype dipole for Heavy Ion Advanced Facility (HIAF) is a very large and fast cycling magnet with the ramping rate of 2.25 T/s. The solenoids for the Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System (CADS) with two steering dipoles have been fabricated and tested. The challenges of four magnets are discussed. The design and fabrication issues are also briefly introduced in this paper.
