Abstract
The Total Synthesis Problem Software Package (TSPSP) has been under development in FORTRAN 77 on a PDP-11/60, RSX 11-M, Tektronix 4025 system at the University of Notre Dame for several years. Based upon a Total Synthesis Problem (TSP) concept proposed in 19779, TSPSP addresses a top-down approach in which design begins with development of desirable and possible input/output pairings for the plant. It then proceeds to a feedback synthesis which incorporates structures appropriate to issues of the application. Heart of the package is a minimal basis calculator and manipulator, which effectively adjusts possible gains and zeros of plant input/output pairings.
