Abstract
The modal parameter identification algorithm, referred to as the Ibrahim-Time-Domain (ITD) technique, is reviewed. The basic theory of the method, and other related theories are systematically presented. Some unique features of the technique are highlighted and some myths are discussed. Current and future trends and mini-computer implementation are included. The application of the method for dynamic modeling, or analytical model improvements, of structures for control system design is also summarized
