Abstract
Two-Dimensional Finite Impulse Response (FIR) Wiener filters are extremely useful in image processing and other 2-D signal processing problems. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, efficient algorithms for the determination of 2-D Wiener filters in case of homogeneous, isotropic and seperable random signals are introduced. Second, some interesting issues regarding the multichannel approach to 2-D problems are raised and discussed, from both the algorithmic and physical point of views.
