Abstract
The modernization of control systems provide control engineers with a challenging situation. The engineer must decide if microprocessor based state-of-the-art technology can successfully replace conventional pneumatic or electronic systems. This paper presents methods and criteria recommended for control system classification in function of type, complexity and information requirements.
