Abstract
Modern analysis and simulation tools provide the Control Engineer with the ability to easily analyze complicated process control systems. These tools permit the study of control instabilities, loop interactions, response rates and controller designs before the system is implemented. They also provide an indispensable tool for the model development, simulation commissioning and tuning of complex process control systems. This paper addresses several applications of these tools to control system synthesis and design in the Steel Industry.
