Abstract
This paper provides an assessment of current surface-to-air tactical misslle guidance and control technology. The use of midcourse guidance followed by a relatively short period of terminal homing offers a significant improvement in fire power and missile intercept coverage at the expense of the inclusion of the sensors and data links necessary for implementation. Advanced midcourse guidance laws explored include Explicit Guidance and Kappa Guidance.
