Abstract
Qualitative reasoning is especially appealing for multisensor target tracking because of its ability to accomodate uncertainty and conflict. This paper presents a rule-based modeling approach for manuever target tracking, and a qualitative track/data association technique by combining numerical data with often informational but seldom used surveillance operator´s intuition. Computer simulations validate the contribution of such information particularly in a stressful target tracking environment.
