Abstract
Power systems employing redundantly powered voltage buses are found to have two advantages over those using dedicated stand-alone power units: high availability and more effective use of space. The reliability of the redundantly powered voltage bus is enhanced by output load-current sharing between the constituent converters. The degree of load sharing between paralleled power units affects system reliability, transient response and thermal profile. A control circuit that can regulate a power unit´s output voltage by controlling its output current offers advantages over conventional pulse-width modulation circuits that control output voltage directly.
