Abstract
Dynamic spectrum management is an important technique for mitigating crosstalk in DSL system. A novel dynamic spectrum management algorithm with low computational complexity is proposed in this paper. In the algorithm, we group the users from the length of the user lines, and use a virtual reference line to replace the lines in each group. After grouping, spectrum allocation and bit-loading are implemented among reference lines. Then all the other users in the same group use the same spectrum allocation scheme as on the relative reference line. In this way, the computational complexity is reduced dramatically. Computer simulation results based on measured DSL channels show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
