Abstract
Structure deflections are key parameters to reflect its state, Non-contact Weighted-Stretched-Wire System (NCWSWS) is a novel system for measuring on-line deflections of big structures. This paper presents the configuration of the system and its measurement principle, researches errors due to the stretched-wire component and photography system, and corresponding strategies are given to reduce the errors. The practicality of the system is improved by study the error, and its performance satisfies the requirements of on-line measurement of big structure deflections.
