Power combined tube transmitters with graceful degradation

This paper describes power combined microwave tube transmitters for very high peak and average power, with the attribute of graceful degradation. This technology replaces single high power microwave tubes (which have low Mean Time Between Critical Failures, and consequently poor Availability), and provides a lower cost and higher efficiency solution compared to solid state.
