Abstract
This paper deals with the ageing behavior of different circuit-breaker types. Furthermore, the model simplifies the condition control of pieces of equipment and provides the asset manager with information about the yearly capital and operational expenditures (CAPEX and OPEX). Capital expenditures include new installation costs in consequence of replacement and grid enlargement and operational expenditures comprise maintenance costs, which can be subdivided in inspection and overhaul costs as well as in minor and major failure costs. Apart from this the real and artificial age are distinguished, which is necessary for the amortization and an obligation from the state. The model is implemented with the simulation software Powersim Studioreg, which bases on system dynamics. This is a framework for simulating dynamic behavior of economic, environment, business and social mechanisms.
