Abstract
This work makes use of a novel analysis method (the Multipurpose Analysis Method) which features the use of artificial ports in a FEM analysis in order to fast evaluate several configurations, for the design of a frequency notched UWB monopole antenna. With this method, a global optimization has been performed on the profiles of the notches of a frequency notched planar UWB antenna in order to reject the 5-6 GHz band for WLAN compatibility.
