Abstract
A way to apply the metamorphic theory to the design of gripper transfer system is proposed. The characteristic of multi-degree of freedom at the different work-stage of the gripper transfer system is analyzed. To achieve gripper transfer system´s function we can design the origin mechanism units and then combine them according to the metamorphic mechanism. This is a new and valid method to the configuration design.
