  • Abstract
    Packet scheduling algorithm is one of the key technologies in radio resource management of wireless networks. The characteristics of multi-rate channel were analyzed, and a new fairness scheduling algorithm for throughput maximizing in multi-rate wireless channel was proposed. Based on random approach theory, this algorithm can achieve the maximum throughput of wireless system, at the same time guarantee long-term fairness among the users. The setting of the associated parameters is analyzed and simulation is done to test the performance. The simulation results are presented and when compared with round robin algorithm, in the case of many users, the proposed algorithm can efficiently improve the system throughput, at the same time there is no obvious loss in user fairness.
