Abstract
This paper is fund research achievements supported by Sichuan Provincial Office of Education (Fund ID:06-511-139). In this paper, analyzes the demand for the E-commerce talent in business, compares China´s E-commerce college education with its counterpart in the United States and also summarizes the current status and issues of the E-commerce college education in China. In addition, this paper shows that the E-commerce college program should be guided by the market demand and should afford students the opportunity to specialize in different areas in order to meet the businesses´ need for highly qualified talent; and more importantly this paper demonstrates that the program should be practice-oriented and focus on fostering students´ application skills in the real business setting.
