Abstract
The sensor network deployment plays an important role in achieving good network coverage and workload balance. In this paper, we propose a distributed deployment scheme by jointly exploiting the concepts of entropy and the Voronoi diagram. This approach first removes redundant sensor nodes through entropy evaluation, and then redeploy the redundant nodes with help of Voronoi diagrams to acquire fine coverage. Moreover, the sensor network keeps connected at any time point. Simulations show that the deployment scheme performs well on network coverage, average moving distance, as well as network connectivity.
