  • Abstract
The voltage sag in power system is determined by many factors. To calculate its frequency, a maximum entropy principle based stochastic method was proposed in this paper. This method considered synthetically different types of line faults. On the basis of fault line intervals setting and sample data moments, the distribution probability of line fault was extracted by maximizing the entropy and the frequency of voltage sags was calculated. The method applied on the IEEE 30-RTS and compared with the traditional method has been shown that it is not influenced by the hypothesis and it is with good accuracy, adaptability and applicability.
