  • Abstract
The interest in integration of Distributed Generation (DG) at the low and medium voltage distribution networks has been increased all over the world as economical and environmental factors drive DG to be the answer to different questions of increasing load demand, reliability, pollution, and price. As the penetration level of DG increases, the distribution system performance has to be analysed in details. The paper investigates the impacts of DG on different loadability aspects of medium voltage distribution systems which are the maximum loading according to the voltage limit and the maximum loading according to the steady state voltage stability limit. Different loadability aspects are evaluated using continuation power flow method. The influence of the DG reactive power on the system real and reactive losses is also investigated.
